How the gross-to-net salary calculator works
Your gross salary isn't what you take home: from it you subtract Social Security contributions and income-tax withholding. This calculator models both in detail, including your personal and family situation (age, children, ascendants, disability, joint taxation), which lower income tax through the personal and family minimum.
How to read the result. The net per payment is what you receive each month (or payment). The personal and family minimum is the part of income that isn't taxed; the larger your family burden, the lower the tax.
Worked example (default values). €30,000 gross, 14 payments, single, age 30, no children, open-ended contract:
- Social Security: €30,000 × 6.5 % = €1,950.
- Estimated income tax: €4,926 (16.4 % withholding).
- Net: €23,124, i.e. about €1,652 per payment.
Add children or a pension contribution and watch the tax fall.
An important note. It applies the state + supplementary regional scale; your region may change the result somewhat. It's indicative and not tax advice.
